2024 Wrapped: Happy New Year!!

Celebration & Reflection

This year was my 7th year practicing as a doula and wrapped up my 4th year of full time birth work. I can honestly say that I have found my passion. I am exactly where I’m supposed to be and I know exactly where I’m going. Doula work has always felt like a deep alignment, but the more I do this work the more I’m amazed at how special it is. I learn constantly, I am fully in awe of birthing people; their strength and resiliency, and most importantly I am humbled every single day by birthwork.

I am so unspeakably grateful for each and every client who welcomes me into their birth space, who allows me to hold them at their most vulnerable, and trusts me to guide them.

This year professionally I added on new services, took a few trainings, and networked with so many providers! I rebranded, with the amazing Joyful Hope Virtual Services. My business grew in more ways than I ever could’ve imagined. I am so grateful to the community of birthworkers around me without whom this work would be completely impossible. Having other people who understand what we do and the impacts on our minds, bodies, and souls is truly irreplaceable.

This year I celebrated attending my 200th birth as a doula!!

Below are som fun stats to wrap up the year with! When viewing these I hope that you can see these are just the numbers, behind each number is a human & family I’ve been privileged to support. These stats help me reflect on the work I’ve done and the difference I’ve made. This work is hard and stats are a way to celebrate these families and my little business!

THANK YOU to each and every person who allowed me to support them! It’s the honor of a lifetime to be able to walk this path as your doula. I can’t wait to see what we do next together.

I hope that each of us can ease into 2025 with peace and continue to wish for peace for every single person. We are living in unprecedented times for the millionth time (my millennial self is showing) and the best thing we can do is to be gentle with each other and continue to fight for everyone to have the rights and autonomy they deserve. I have never felt more alligned with my mission; to serve all individuals and family constellations through educating, supporting, and witnessing their journey of conception, birth, and beyond. As your guide I will lead with experience, empathy, and compassion. I will be your tireless advocate centering your goals surrounding your pelvic & perinatal health.

I’ll be moving through to 2025 with the same fervor for advocacy and a renewed sense of love for this work.

With love,

your doula Amber
